In 2020, Africa’s population under the age of 35 represented nearly a billion individuals, constituting a remarkable 22.7% of the world’s total youth population. This demographic surge represents an incredible opportunity to invest in the talents and accelerate the growth of Africa’s young people, positioning the continent as a global powerhouse of innovation. In particular, the banking and capital markets sector stands to benefit immensely from this reservoir of potential.
Andile’s mission has always been to make markets thrive, and our latest collaboration with ICAP Training Solutions through the Battle of the Banks Africa competition underscores our unwavering commitment to upskill, uplift, and empower Africa’s emerging banking professionals. Together with ICAP, we are paving the way for the continent’s young bankers to take their rightful place on the global stage and wield a transformative influence on the future of financial markets on this continent.
What is the Battle of the Banks?
The Battle of the Banks is an immersive journey into the realm of bank management. Multiple teams, made up of four individuals each, engage in a guided business simulation, that mirrors the complexities of running a full-service bank over 4 operating quarters. Within this dynamic competition, strategic decisions are made to optimise market share and stock prices, just as real bank executives would do in the boardrooms of the financial world. Participants will grapple with genuine challenges, including regulatory constraints and capital requirements, over an intense eight-week period.
Join Us on This Journey
Andile is not just a supporter but an active participant in this competition. From September 27th, our own team will compete against some of the top banks on the continent. Stay tuned as we keep you updated on their progress, and follow our journey closely.
